Anyone know the maximum lift of compcams 986-16 springs??

I think those are rated at .600 lift. Check the comp cams website to be sure.

and hotcams are rated at .550 right??

i dont think they are rated that high(?)
most say they are barely adequate for the .525" lift of the Hotcam with 1.6 rockers

Yet so many people go 1.7 RR's and not have a problem with the hotcam springs considering more lift puts them well over .525????

Really.....I bet if they take a look at their valve stems where the keepers go after a few hundred miles they will be damaged due to coil bind. I wouldnt go more than .525 with the lt4 springs.

agreed, I run 1.7s with Crane springs rated for over .700 and have no problems with bind or damanged keepers, etc. You have to research the correct spring match for your setup.
