Massive wheel hop!!! HELP!

Well, ever since i have put the Street Twin in i have been gettin a lot of wheel hop, between shifts and launching from the stop.

So far I have relocation brackets, lcas and i just put a poly torque arm bushing in. I think torque arm bushing made it worse then it was.

Anyways, why do i have so much wheel hop? What else can i change to make it go away!!! HELP!

Did you get weld in Relocation brakets or bolt-ins? You could check the bolts on those.

Did you get adjustable or non adjustable LCA's?

Perhaps put a torque wrench on them and see if they are not tight enough?

What tires do you have back there? Are they in pretty bad shape?

I hear your pain man .... i was feelin the traction blues too. I got a panhard rod, adj control arms, and all poly mounts. The ride felt a 100 times better but traction semmed to still sux majorly !!! I got a set of sfc's and nitto drag radials put on in the same day and OMG what a difference. the car is a blast to drive now. Yes i have less tail slides then before and i hesitate to smoke em and show off but......... I can now see 4.50 0-60 mph times !!!!

Make sure everything is tightened properly. Not too tight and not too loose. I was having MASSIVE wheel hop a while back. It was so bad that one time i just spun them over in first gear and the car shook exteremely violently...i thought the car was goign to fall apart! LOL

Anyways, it turned out that my passenger side LCA was loose. It had even gotten to the point were it started to make noise...kinda a popping, like it moving around, so I knew what the problem was. I tightened it down (actually, replaced with aftermarket at the same time) and I have had NO wheel hop ever since. Just something to look into.

If your car isnt lowerd move the lcas up or down a hole from where they are now and see if that helps.

Have you checked your pinion angle? You could have too much downward angle on the pinion (over about -3 degrees) or you could have a positive pinion angle. Either will give wheel hop, just at different speeds.

ok...i have a moser 12 bolt with welded brackets, the lcas are on the last hole. They are Lakewood LCAs and are on there pretty tight The tires are 315 Nitto Drag Radials at 15psi they are pretty new. Car is lowered with Pro kit.

Damn wheel hop!

If everything checks out alright, you may look at getting some stiffer springs and/or an air bag setup for the rear.

Air bag inside the spring would definitely help. I use one on the passenger side - some people put them in both sides.

Once again: check your pinion angle. I have the exact drivetrain you do and when I first put it in I had huge wheel hop problems. I have a street twin, denny's 3.5 aluminum HD with 1350 yolks, Moser 12, BMR RLCAs set at the bottom hole. When I installed the 12 bolt it changed the pinion geometery. You have to get that cured before anything else will work. If that is perfect, then airbags are the next step.

I'll second the airbags in the springs, works wonders.

What shocks? If stock, they're probably old enough that they bounce more than absorb. Especially if you've used them for awhile with the Pro-Kit.
