Manufacturer Ignition Misfire

What exactly does that code mean? I went to Autozone today to have them read why i have a SES code and thats what came up. I knew there was some kind of misfire cuz I could hear it when my car was idling, but its nothing big as it still idles fine and runs fine.

You can't depend on the translation from a lot of places. Most are too generic. Always get the exact code number, then come back here (or click the DTC link in my sig for code listings specific to our cars).

When you get into the manufacturer specific codes, you can't start comparing different engine platforms. There is no P1336 for the OBD-II LT1's, while apparently there is for your LS1. Basically, you're on the wrong forum.

The LT1 misfire codes are in the P0300, P0301... P0308 range, with the first one being "random" misfires and the next 8 corresponding to specific cylinders. The only ignition codes in the P1300 range for the LT1 are P1351 for high voltage in the ignition control circuit, P1361 for low voltage, and P1371 for failure of the low res pulse pattern from the Optispark distributor.

To fix P1336, you need to have a "crankshaft system variance learn" procedure performed on your vehicle. I just wrote an article about this yesterday. Check it out at:

I am considering adding this feature to our hand-held tuner so people running into this problem can avoid going to the dealer and paying big bucks to get it fixed.
