Manually Turning Engine

I am starting my cam / RR install this weekend and had one more question (I hope only one). To install my springs, I am planning on using the method of turning the engine to TDC so the valves dont fall in when I swap springs. What is the best way to do this??? You need a special tool / socket to fit to the crank to spin it, correct? Where would I get this (or any other tool I may need), because I cannot find it anywhere. Thanks!

no special tool, just put a 9/16ths socket i think it is on one of the harmonic balancer bolts and u should be able to turn it, works for me.

Re: Manually Turning Engine

I used a cylinder leakdown tester and applied air pressure to the cylinder to hold the valves up. It worked great

Yeah, I know that is a method, but I do not have the leakdown tester or air compressor. Also, I like the idea of not having to pull my plugs and having the physical barrier of the cylinder to hold the valve rather than air pressure. Just a little piece of mind.
