manual fan switch??

I want to know how to wire my fans to come on and run all the time. The car is a 95 firebirf LT1. I don't want any led lights and really don't care about any ses lights. I'm going to the track very soon and need to do this quick. I just want to be able to turn my fans on manually when I want. Thanks

you can do the switch without leds. just dont use a 12v source and any leds. all you will need to hook up to the switch is a ground and the blue and green wire from the car.

where are the blue and green wires located? Is it on the pass side fender under the hood? Will this turn the fans on high or low?

heres the link http://www.xious.com/camaro/install-fanswitch.html

You will be able to turn on both high and low speeds.

There might be an SLP fan switch GP in the Paying Advertisers section if there is 6+ orders, free shipping.

following the diagram on the link above....does it create a problem if the pcm turns the fans on, and you have the switch turned on too?.......also, does that operate both fans?

For a 1996-1997 you will get a DTC if the switch is used when the key is ON or engine running. Add the resistors shown in this diagram and the pcm will stay happy. (this diagram is basically the same thing)

The switch will override the pcm, but with the switch off, normal fan operation will occur. 1995-1997 3 relay fan systems operate both fans in tandem. The diagram lets you control both high and low speed operation (fans operate together).

Shoebox....you 'da man!! Thanks. One more question. The 12V that I'm tapping into.....what are the amperage requirements? Is that power actually running the fans when the switch is on, or is that just powering relays? I don't mean to be redundant, I just don't want to fry any wiring.

12v is just used to power the LEDs so its really minute amperage.

Is there a way to wire up the fans so they can be turned on without the key on, using a relay?

On a 1997 they will come on by the manual switch, without the key being ON.

I tried this yesterday with all the LED's, resistors, and diodes and my fans aren't coming on. I know I have a good ground because the LED's are working. Anyone know what might be the problem? I tapped into the H and J wires light the diagram states.

Use a meter and see if a ground is getting to where you tapped into the wires when the switch is thrown. The LEDs can work and there still be an open toward the H and J connection.

Tons of people use it just like the wiring diagram shows, so it definitely does work. Also be sure there is not something simple as a fan fuse blown.
