Call Combination Motorsport (702-798-8504) and get their REV valves. They are 4.960 and will work fine.

Their part #'s are SI 2.00 and SI 1.57. They are about $160 a set. If you need them quick, I am sure they can "NEXT DAY AIR" them for ya for not much more.

2.02 and 1.60 do not help or increase flow. from what i read and been told by porters it doesnot hurt any either but you do have to do some unshrouding.

and i would rather use a smaller valve if a larger one wont help so i can save weight.

Was looking at valves in my Summit catalogue the other day and noticed they have the ones that are .100 longer. Can you explain why you would go with a longer valve. I've got my heads off the car now and am getting ready to increase the valves to 2.02/1.60, could I benefit more with a longer valve? Are there any disadvantages?

Thanks

Alot depends on what cam (lift) you are running and what springs you are using and what set up ht. you will need to make it all work. The stock length valves are fine until about .570-.580 lift. After this, a longer valve will give you more set up ht. to work with. Most springs that work with thse size cams will need a lil taller valve so the seat pressure is not too high and they are not close to coil bind.

Others might answer a lil differently but this is what I see.

If you change the length of the valve, change cams, mill heads, etc, the push rod length and rocker geometry MUST be re checked since it will USUALLY be wrong assuming that it was correct before.

hmmm...so would you recommend going with the longer valves for someone that has the following.

Cam - 847
Rockers - GM1.6RR, from HotCam kit
Springs - CMS 612
Heads - have been ported, polished, & milled yet I do not have specs right now on how much has been taken off.

Like some of these guys mentioned.. you probably dont need a .100 long valve. Ferrea "LTx" stuff is 4.960, vs. 4.910 for the manley stuff I've had. Either one should work with most normal .550-.600" lift lobes, an lt1 head, and a decent spring (I dont know where that 612 binds etc. though). Worst case you can run a +.050" keeper and likely not have any problem with it.

Thats been my experience with the stuff anyhow .

Manley doesnt make a 2.02 valve .100 longer, you have to get one custom made by Manley and the cost is pretty high. I got my 2.02/1.60 .100 longer valves from Ferrea, they were well under $200. Milodon also makes .100 longer 2.02s.

Hmmm, I'll (or someone) needs to call Manley and let them know, cuz I'm confident they don't know that yet.

To answer the original ?, try these guys: http://www.sdpc2000.com

Wish the Manley rep. would have told me that, wouldnt have had to dish out so much cash for Ferreas.

I know it's his job to know what they are talking about, but mfrs. spend big bucks to put up an informative and accurate site. In a word, use 'em, as time consuming as it may become. You're on this forum, that tells me, you are internet literate enuf, (even if you are from Iowa...low blow?) to do some effective searching for info you need.

P.S. I myself, grew up, and spent a couple of decades on my family's farm. So, respectfully, it really wasn't a low blow.
