making 93 lt1 work in 95 camaro

I have a 95 camaro z28 m6, I locked the engine, and bought a lt1 outta a 93 trans am, did some research on the swap and found out the 93 lt1 is sort different, so what all do I need to switch over from the 95 engine to 93 engine to make this work?

Intake (complete with injectors, TB, and EGR) and exhaust manifolds, engine wiring harness front cover, timing set, and opti, knock sensor. The oil pressure sensor is in a different spot but can be moved and the original port blocked off. That should be it.....

You can't use the vented 95 opti with the stock 93 cam. If you don't want to mess with anything opti (timing cover and such) just use the 93s opti with it's harness. Knock sensor is the same.

so basically dont switch any sensors from the 95, because its pretty much the complete block minus the sensors and and wiring harness. so i need to go find a 93 wiring harness, will it plug up to my 95 pcm? or will i do better just going to go find a 94 or 95 lt1

You have to use the throttle body from your 95. The IAC motor connection is different. The Opti connector is different, so you need the short harness from a 93/94 (plugs into the gray harness connector on the passenger side of the intake manifold and to the 93's Opti). Knock sensor, IAT, EVAP, PVC, MAP components are the same. The AIR and PCV plumbing is different on the 93 than all other years. The AIR pump is bolted to the frame, not to the engine. You obviously have to keep your 95 MAF sensor. I would keep the 95 PCM, the 95 wiring harness, and simply use as many of the external engine components as you can - intake manifold/fuel rails and injectors (93 are flow rated lower) from your 95 engine.

There is no reason to switch to a 93 harness. The 93 ECM does not interface with the skip shift feature, since 93 didn't have it (no big loss). The 93 harness feeds the tach directly from the coil, via a filter. 95 feeds the tach from the PCM. 93 feeds the speedo, the ECM and the cruise independantly from the VSS. 95 feeds the VSS to the PCM, and the PCM feeds the speedo.

on the 93 engine, which is going into my car, switch the sensors from the 95 engine to the 93 engine, ok. whats confusing me is your saying the short harness, there is 2 harnesses on the 93? and will the plugs from the 93 fit the 95 pcm.

Referring to the opti harness, not the engine harness. 93-94 has an opti harness with a short connector on the opti end. 93 engine harnesses/computer are not compatible with any other year.

Re: making 93 lt1 work in 95 camaro

Leave your 95 harness right where it is. You will have two conflicts. The IAC motor in the base plate of the throttle body will not connect. You have to use the base plate from the 95. The "short" 95 Opti harness extension, running from the gray connector on the EVAP bracket on the passenger side of the intake manifold, to the Opti will not plug into the 93's unvented Opti. You have to replace that "short" harness with a 93/94 harness.

If you didn't get the "short" Opti harness with the 93 engine, you can get one here for a fair price:
