Make an Lt1 Loud for Cheap

Anyone have any ideas on how to make the lt1 louder without busting the bank?

Just buy a 3" cutout and have it welded in. Plenty loud with the plate off and shouldn't cost more than $80 to buy it and have it stuck on

Cut the exhaust off before the axle. As long as you keep your cat(s) it's reasonable. Sounds badass too.

Cut off your exhaust before the cat (if it's '93-'95, otherwise you'll need the o2 simulators too), weld on an 18" bullet muffler, add a turndown before the axle, and done.

You should be able to do a normal cutout for cheap. If you're okay with spending a total of around $300 I would do an electric cutout. I have an electric cutout an I wouldn't have anything else... With an electric cutout you can cap it or open it up at anytime depending on what you're feeling like from the cabin of the car.

cut off the factory muffler, get a 2.5" glasspack, clamp it on, and get a 2.5" turndown. Cheap, effective, sounds pretty decent.

Cutout definitely. Paid 30 bucks for mine, 30 more to get it welded on and it sounds badass.

Yea the cutout would be the most reliable and cheap mod. I dont know if you have emmisions or not but if you do Ill tell you what my buddy did who only had to pass the inspection part. He cut his muffler out and took a sawzall to the top of it. Then he gutted the muffler and welded the top piece back on. Its a little bit more work but its pretty much free. This wasnt on a camaro so I cant tell you what it sounds like.
