Question Major Stalling issues

I have a 94 z28 Auto that I recently bought. It runs great, but sometimes after 5-10 minutes of driving, it stalls randomly. Other times I can drive it half an hour before it does it. I tried to look for a pattern, and it seems to be stalling when I accelerate,it doesn't matter if full or half or just a small push of the gas pedal, other than that "pattern" its just random stalls. Sometimes it starts right away, other times I have to wait anywhere from 5-10 minutes. When the car does start up again it runs great then again after a couple minutes it dies. I heard this can be from my ignition module, or maybe and I doubt it, from my fuel pump? The previous owner had told me the car has past electric issues. Any suggestions?

I am having the same issues. My car has a bit of trouble starting then runs great for 5-10 minutes before stalling on me then runs fine, totally random; the only difference is my rpm gauge will also go out sometimes after the stall. I also recently added a hypertech programmer. My friend thinks fuel pump, any suggestions would be helpful.

Its been a long time since my car has done it. I ended up replacing the icm, coolant temp sensor and maf and it hasn't done it since. Unsure if one of those fixed it but its been 9 months since the last time and thats all i have done to the car i can think of since then. The maf i was going to do so i could go back to a stock unit and the others were under $50 so the price was cheap if it was one of those.

Thanks for the help I will work on it this weekend and replace the parts that you have recommended before spending the money on the fuel pump. My low coolant light has been on for a while; eventhough, there is enough coolant and no leaks. Hopefully this is indicating where the problem is.

I had a fuel gauge hooked up the last time it did it and the pressure stayed solid up until it totally quit so it wasn't the fuel pump. If you think so use a pressure gauge and watch it the next time it acts up.

I had a similar problem with my 94 formula. I could drive it for ~30 mins and it would idle crappy and stall out. Still to this day I dont know what it was I just tore her down for a rebuild.

This issue is almost certainly the sensor itself. Located about 6 inches from the tiop of the radiator on the battery side. They tend to die. I replaced mine after I got tired of looking at the warning light. Cost about 50 bucks, and I had to drain the radiator partway.

The problem ended up being the fuel pump. The pressure should be between 45 and 50 psi, mine was between 25 and 30 psi only when the car was at idle. With only the ignition turned on my psi was barely 15, so my buddy hooked the gauge to his 96 ss with stock pump and, with ignition turned to on, the gauge torqued up and was reading 50+ psi and notable pressure. I found a good thread on replacing the pump, and I will definitely replace the other sensor while I'm working on the car.
