Major problems!
Major problems!
hey, i decided to go ahead and put the 54mm tb instead of doing everything all at once... I can actually feel a pretty good difference with the new throttle body but somethings not right. Its an A4 and if i punch it at about 15-20 shift out of first then go through second and shift into third it feels awesome but then right after i shift into third the power falls off completely like it shifts into od i think and after that happens it will stay in overdrive until i go fairly slow and oonce i come to a stop and start driving again it will stick in the gears and when it finaly shifts its fast and firm.. i checked the tps it reads .70v at idle and 4.8 wot.. the idle is fine also.. the only other thing i noticed wrong was when i reved the engine in nutral it would stay at 2k rpms when it was comming back down and to get it to come all the way down i had to tap the gas real quick.. any suggestions? by the way everything else is stock ss stuff
Re: Major problems!
it only sticks every now and then but i think i got that problem fixed the main issue i was having was when i was WOT and it shifts it completely F's up.. when i get on it completely afterwards the gears start sticking like i will just ease in first gear and it will normally shift out it will stay in first gear till like 2800 rpm then snap into the next gear.
Re: Major problems!
Talk to Ion or Brain about increasing the line pressures in the 4L60E. I would also swap the stocker back onto the car until you can get this taken care of or you'll probably be rebuilding your 14k mile tranny pretty soon.
Re: Major problems!
why would it have anything to do with my line pressure though? its just at WOT it will go through a gear then shift and after the shift it messes up like the computer.. and it starts shifting wrong.. if i dont get on it at all it doesnt do it and it runs just fine when it starts doing it turning off the car then turning it back on fixes it
Re: Major problems!
It's just a known problem. When you put a bigger TB on a car with an electronic tranny, you have to up the line pressures or it kills the trans. Just call one of the two guys I mentioned earlier and talk to them about it.
