Magnaflow install not as good as expected.

Well after hearing how good magnaflow sounds and fits I decided to get one.I am lucky took car to muffler shop and had a pro work on it.It was pain in the butt. The left tailpipe was bent a bit wrong and the whole system was horribly centered under the car.I took a few hours of labor to tack and fix things up.I also used band clamps in most places instead of supplied clamps. They are usually much better for preventing annoying exhaust leaks and just like the way band clamps look too.

I have only drove the car for a few short minutes so no review yet on how it sounds.I left my cats on there for the moment and have no headers. The wife who's car it actually is but I bought it for her,pay her insurance gas, payments etc said it sounds like a tractor now but told her she just has to get used to it.. She was used to the super graveyard quiet stock exhaust.

The muffler looks very nice all bright and so do the tailpipes I think.I was going to go borla but hate the borla tips.I will likley install electric cutout on the car like have on my 99.Electric cutouts rule.

Well it sounds ok..pretty good.It can get pretty loud when floored and by 3000 rpm or so.I will likely keep the cats on the car.Afraid to go much louder with our noise bs laws here now.

I am not sure if I like it more than my b and b on my 99 but it was cheaper than the b and b.I should have sent the first system back and not dicked around with it.Cost more in labor and ordered it thru the shop so its kinda their responsiblity but they give me good work and decent labor rates and favors so cant' really bitch.

I think the exhaust maybe does sound a bit droney or something at lower revs but can get around it a bit by driving in second gear a bit and soon with gears that will raise cruise rpm.

I had to tweak my Magnaflow system a little when I put mine on too, but it wasn't bad. The supplied clamps are a little lame, but the system itself is well built.

I like the sound, none of the resonance that the Flowmaster system had.
