I always get complimented on my system. Stop lights, etc...

I put 95 style mac mids with an ORY and it made it really loud. Rips at WOT, and has a nice exhaust pop as it winds back down. I love that system. I Couldn't imagine having something like the LM with headers and an ORY. Would sound terrible I assume
Yeah, it does pop a ****loud when it down revs, if you let it down rev from like 60mph and then tap the gas you can burp it and it makes a funny sound.

I cant really hear the popping from inside the car much at all. Its a v8 thing you just cant hear it w/ the stock exhaust cuz its so restrictive. All v8's do it, it just a little more noticeable on our engines I think. It doesnt bother me one bit tho, its not the magnaflows fault any catback will do it.

The drivers side tip on mine is a little off. I was thinking some kid kicked it or something. Well I guess I'll stop giving the neighbors kids dirty looks. I still get under the car to polish it.

How does this exhaust sound at idle? Most say it's similar to stock, which is why I might be going with Hooker instead.

Sound clips, etc will be extremely helpfull.

It's deeper, and a little louder than stock at idle.

I did sound clips here on the board 2 years ago. I recorded stock exhaust, then Magnaflow on the stock manifolds, then a year and a half ago I recorded it again with the headers.

My driverside tip is also messed up, it seems to want to BOW-OUT toward the outside of the car and it is too far away from the center. These kits dont fit our cars or at leaste mine very well.

i got a magnaflow exhaust, and the flowpath is different in the muffler. did magnaflow change their mufflers or did i get the wrong muffler? if you look in where the passenger side tailpipe exits, you can see directly through to the drivers side exit. in other words, all the exhaust runs through the exhaust, there isnt any exhaust that doesn't go through the muffler. does this make sense? its sort of hard to explain

Magnaflow is only a little bit louder than the stock muffler at idle on an otherwise stock LT1...BUT, the Hooker Aerochamber is barely any louder (if at all) than stock, LOL. I know, because I used to have the Hooker cat-back on my '95 Z28.

If you actually want to hear your car at idle, you're going to need a wide-open Borla, SLP Loudmouth, or cutout. I highly recommend the cutout for this!

It's got nothing to do with being a V8. A 6 cyl. will do it too. It's the fact that your eliminating back pressure. The less back pressure, the more it will pop. That's as far as stock manifolds go anyway. I don't know about LT's.

All Magnaflow exhausts I've heard for our cars pop more than other brands... not the best sound for cat-back IMO. Good price and flow though.

I love my magnaflow. Lowder then stock but not annoying, pops a little reving down but thats from the lower back pressure. Heres a little clip http://www.imagestation.com/picture/...3/f375fb92.mpg
Imagestation is down right now but the vid should work soon

Just a quick question though with headers, how much does it change the sound? (Midlengths specificly)
