Magnaflow Catback is here...detailed pics within, looks HIGH QUALITY!

Thing looks great! Everything fit togother nicely, now let's see how it fits when it's on the car!

But, for $280 shipped, how can you beat that? www.performance-curve.com

The flow path is as follows: ~1/2 is sent down to the other tailpipe via a glass-pack looking tube, the other 1/2 is redirected right back out the other hole via that 180* bend where the 2 pipes are on the same side. There's a wall there that you can see in one of the pics that kinda directs and bounces it back out...

The inside looks glass-packish, in that I can see from one end to the other via a dimpled (holes?) tube...that angles from the inlet on one side through and over to the outlet on the other side. I'm not sure what is in the rest of the areas...

Also, the 180* redirection "wall" doesn't go all the way to the back side on the passenger side, it's got ~ 1-1.5" between it and the front and back walls on each side as you can see in the pic.

This is the best way to describe it inside:

Looks like a good kit man, cant wait to hear how it sounds. Ive always thought the Magnaflow was a qiet muffeler but always flowed well.

If that is the case then that will be PERFECT!

I'm running Jet-Hot Long Tubes, no cats, custom Y w/ DMH elec cutouts, and this Magnaflow, on a 383 AI ported "decently" cammed engine...

Gotta keep outta trouble on the street.

Just email scott@performance-curve.com and tell him you saw it on ebay. I got mine there too. Its a great system. It will take some minor adjusting to get the tailpips even. No biggie. Not too loud but I have stock manifolds and a cat.

i was just reading a thread now that i think of it, when i searched "magnaflow pics", it was towards the bottom of the results, it was discussing how the driver side tip is a bit crooked, and some people went through some adjusting to get it just right, from what i understood it had something to do with the hanger? im not sure.

Re: Magnaflow Catback is here...detailed pics within, looks HIGH QUALITY!

sorry to dig up an old thread, but i got a magnaflow exhaust, and the flowpath is different in the muffler. did magnaflow change their mufflers or did i get the wrong muffler? if you look in where the passenger side tailpipe exits, you can see directly through to the drivers side exit. in other words, all the exhaust runs through the exhaust, there isnt any exhaust that doesn't go through the muffler. does this make sense? its sort of hard to explain

I had similar issues with mine as well. The driver side tail pipe sits slightly angled out because of the way the rear hangers match up to the pipes. I havent really messed with it too much, but I can tell you that it sounds mean at WOT.

The exhaust shop that installed my kit worked a bit on the alignment of the tips for me.

I wish I had looked through my muffler before installtion to see if I could ascertain the flow-path.

I love the sound of the system though, had it for 2 years now.

That system is a great looking system, and I'd probably get it for my next system, but I just do not like those tips. They really belong on a truck.

Re: Magnaflow Catback is here...detailed pics within, looks HIGH QUALITY!

Magnaflow makes an awesome exhaust system for this car. It was the only system I considered. Borla is way too overpriced and it has a little too much rasp for me. Pointless to spend twice the money on a SS system. It has an awesome idle, quiet but deep rumble, which is what I wanted, but at WOT, it rips. It sounds awesome. I always get complimented on my system. Stop lights, etc...

I put 95 style mac mids with an ORY and it made it really loud. Rips at WOT, and has a nice exhaust pop as it winds back down. I love that system. I Couldn't imagine having something like the LM with headers and an ORY. Would sound terrible I assume
