Lightbulb MAF research

I'm planning on doing a lil research for a fun final project in the fluids laboratory. I'm planning to use a hot wire anemometer (same as the little hot wires in the MAF) to map the entire flow field for four scenarios.

1) Straight shot (ram air style) with screen
2) Straight shot (ram air style) without screen
3) Standard elbow style intake with screen
4) Standard elbow style intake without screen

The reason I’m posting here is to see if anyone would be willing to loan or donate* the intake tracts for this. If no one is willing to step up with this stuff I am planning to just use two simple PVC setups straight and with an elbow to approximate the intake tracts. Sometimes results are slightly different though with 'the real deal' and it would be better data to draw conclusions from if someone could provide real intakes.

*the teacher may want to make a permanent lab out of this if the results are consistent and interesting/significant, doesn't matter much to me though.

Are you looking for a stock airbox with the piece that attaches to the maf? I have all that and an extra ported MAF housing with a screen you can use if you need it any of it. I dont have an extra rubber intake elbow though if you need that. Gregg

see ya over summer..

oh also--i actually had some questions for you, do long tubes scrape on a lowered car, and how easy was it to install your electric h2o pump?

Gregg,

I'll keep that in mind. I was hoping a shop or someone with some extra parts would step up with loaners pieces that people actually run since very few people use the stock airbox. I can probably get some good results just mocking up the geometry in PVC though.

Brian,

I don't have longtubes, slp mids. You can check out andrews when you come home. You have edlebrocks now right? H20 pump was easy, you better plan more than that though if you wanna be keeping up
