Maf-A-Matic

Anybody got one of these by Granatelli? i read an article that mentioned it in the latest Chevy Hi-Po....i was thinkin about gettin one...but i am not sure...anyone used one? seen one? sounds like a good idea...would be an easier alternative to a whole laptop setup in the maro...i dunno...

I think i read the same aritcle, i think they got like 17 rwhp out of it and said they were going to do a whole aritlce about it or something. but i think they had it on a dyno and were watching the a/f ratio and found out it was running lean up top.

they are gonna do an article, just read it tonight at work while the machine was runnin Wouldn't that be the same as the older MAF Translators??

NOT as good as real tuning. There is more to tuning than just AFR. Anything that tampers with a sensors signal is just a halfassed method better left to cars that have less accessible pcms

If it's the MAF I think you're talking about, it only makes HP by giving the computer a false signal. It fools the computer into running rich. And if you ever have your car tuned it is a nightmare

The Maf-a-Matic is a new product. Its an MAF with an adjustable/programmable calibration.

As noted above, a real "tune" will provide far superior results. I guess some people might like to be able to "tweek" a bit, but you could do that with tuning software for a lot less $$$$.
