MAF Harness
MAF Harness
Hey Guys,
I just bought my 1997 Pontiac T/A in July. Now I have a misfire. I hooked up my car up to the scanner and it brought up several codes, including EGR, EVAP canister and most importantly MAF circuit. I looked at the MAF sensor itself and it appears fine. When testing the harness however there is a voltage drop of about 1-2 volts. The previous owner over-heated the car and replaced the heads and several other components. The MAF harness appears that it melted slightly, it appears to have silicon on it to try to heal the damage, now it is no longer healed. My question is, How do you replace the MAF harness? and How much it is? Thanks,
Ray

Re: MAF Harness
You can cut out the bad section of wire and splice in good wire (soldered). If the connector itself is bad, your local parts store might carry a replacement; here in CA PepBoys carries several of the GM connectors.
Re: MAF Harness
I replaced my connector to the MAF sensor and it made the car run better but not perfect. I cleaned the air filter as well with the K&N recharge kit, the car still misfires. The scanner said the EGR, and the EVAP as well as the MAF sensor circuit. Any other ideas?
