MadZ28 VS PCM4 Less?
MadZ28 VS PCM4 Less?
some problems came up and ate up a big chunk of my budget. I was planning on going with LT1 to edit my PCM, but due to lack of funds and the fact the car will be ready to run this weekend, I'm just going to get a mail order tune to hold me over.
What I'm wondering is, what is the pros and cons of each. They both seem to be identicle in the service they provide, so why is PCM4LESS a $100 more expensive? if anyone have opinions or comments please speak up.
BTW, I'm looking at tuning an OBD1 PCM.

Thought I would step in and answer this.
We have not adjusted our prices to compete closely with MADz28 solely because we are overworked as it is. Our goal is to price our service in such a way to balance the volume of work we do with the volume of work we can handle.
With dyno tuning, answering phones, finishing mail order stuff, and answering emails its hard enough staying on top of the game. If we lowered our prices $100 we would likely double our volume and make even more money but it wouldn't be worth it to us because we would never be able to sleep.
I just didn't want to let anyone think we where trying to be greedy or anything, we are simply just trying to throttle our business back to a safe volume.

Your prices are too cheap, I agree. I expected to pay more

Re: MadZ28 VS PCM4 Less?
I know nothing about Mad.
However, I do know about PCM.
He sent me a mail order tune for my mostly stock, 42lb injected LT1 in a Caprice that was so close to dead nuts on that when I went to him for a dyno tune later on he could only tweak the timing a tiny bit and adjust the fuel trims (is that the right word?) an equally tiny amount.
Basically, the dyno tune found like another 5hp over the mail order tune.

I went with a PCM for Less tune during my head/cam install. After the engine was buttoned up I hooked up my laptop to the car and installed the bin; turned the key and it started right up. It has been running great, and its manners in city traffic are better than I expected. Bryan Herter and Ron/Phil at AI have my vote they do great work.

The question of MadZ28 vs. PCMforless comes up here on a regular basis. From what I've read, you can't go wrong with either of them. Both Ion and Alvin/Bryan have earned a lot of respect in the Camaro community, and do good work.
