madz28 tune

i got a madz28 tune after my headers and ory were installed. before the tune i dynoed 275, and had a slight miss. the miss got worse so i ended up replacin the opti, plugs and wires. the miss was gone so i got the tune. well i went back to the dyno, and only pulled 271. what could be causeing me to lose power????? im completly lost and the car should have 285+ wth the tune in there.

Ditto. Try an LT4 KM and see what happens, only 30 bucks and can't hurt.

don't mean to insult your intelligence or anything but just thought I would throw this out there...maybe make sure that your wires are all hooked up correctly and stuff and that nothing is arcing(sp).

Any mods not listed in your sig? Things like modified or nonstock MAFs, fuel pressure, injectors can all throw a tune way off even if the tuner is aware of them. Also was this the same dyno and operator? Something silly like a low tire affecting readings but not actual output.

That's actually a very reasonable suggestion and an honest mistake. My friend's car had a TERRIBLE miss, ran like 100% garbage. Turned out he had 2 burnt plug wires, and one was just completely off. Mixed up wires can cause interesting results as well...

Re: madz28 tune

all the wires are right, and they are all fine and not archin, its weird cause the car feels like its alot smoother through the rpm's. it was the same dyno, same operator as the last time. the only mods are the ones in my sig nothing else. it was alot colder out the night i dynoed, but i thought the numbers were corrected??? also the knock retard desensitizing was done too

Re: madz28 tune

I think Ion might desensitize the KR on the PCM on his tunes, so I'm not sure how much an LT4 KM would really help at this point. If you posted the dyno graph it may help us to answer your question better. The only thing I have to say is maybe your fuel filter is clogged or the fuel pump is dying.

Re: madz28 tune

Ion recomended for me to get a LT4 KM along with his tune, even with the desensitizing.

your #'s are not off but 5 horsies?? My z28 with long tubes, k&n fipk, tb bypass, Tune, new plugs and wires, dynoed 280rwhp & 313 rwtq. As long as the car pulls strong that is all that matters. It is not a supra so dont worry about #'s just track times.

What you need is a cut out!!! That will give you 10rwhp.
