I didn't notice any seat of the pants gain from a tune on a bolt on car, thats why I advised against it. At the same time I never felt any gain from CAI, or a catback but I know its there. If you don't ever plan to go any farther than bolt ons then I might get a tune. In my opinion if you plan to go further like heads and cam, I'd just wait.

On Ion's site, for the premium gas tune, he suggests gains of almost 13hp at the wheels. Granted this might not be a SOTP difference, but as you mention, it is there. Factor in other things such as firmer shifts and lower fan on/off settings that his tunes can also do. Options like that can benefit both stock and modified vehicles.Originally Posted by Z95m6

If your not planning to do anything to the car in the near future go ahead with a tune and see how your car responds to it. if you are planning to do mods in the near future wait till you get a couple of them done and have the tune done with them to compliment the mods, it will be better worth the money.

If you use Ed Write he locks his tunes so you can't do you own minor changes.
Ed's tunes are 350 and 125 or 150 updates. Ed's a good tuner but I like to be able to make the minor changes like gears or tires myself.
Just something else to think about.

Ed doesn't lock his tunes anymore.
