MAC's - Any Install Tips?
MAC's - Any Install Tips?
A friend and I are going to be both putting MAC's in both our cars very soon. I've done a large amount of searching but still have a few questions. Also if anyone has some Tips for the install it would be awsome if you could post them in here!
Q1: EGR - I hear there are some issues with the EGR hookups. Could someone maybe explain this in a bit more detail? Its foggy from the posts Ive read to me still (Doesnt seal right?, doesnt fit???). I've replace the EGR valve on the car before which was awkward but easy... is that what people are referring to? Or is it the tube coming out of the Pipe to the block causing the problem?
Q2: Locking Bolts - There seem to be a few types out there, what brand is the best? (i've seen stage 8's, breslins etc.) Sounds like breslins are the way to go, can someone confirm?
Q3: Would my friend and I be best to get 1 Set of ARP's and 1 set of Breslins, and use the breslin locking ones on some of the hardest to get bolts, and just retorque the ARP's after a week or so? Or just screw that and spend a few $$ and get breslins all around...
Q4: I'll be keeping the EGR system, but getting rid of the AIR stuff. whats the best way to blockoff the air fittings on the MAC's?
Were hoping to do it over a long weekend (both cars) or perhaps two weekends depending on how things go
The 2nd should go much quicker hopefully.
