I'm planning on getting some mac mids with y-pipe for my 94 Z. Just wondering if i can remove the tranny without dropping the y-pipe like i can with the stock y pipe?

Yes, but it only takes about 2 min. to remove it. I just did it over the weekend.

 

crap... ah well, i was just hoping i could put my tranny in now instead of waiting till i finish my heads/cam/headers project.

hmmm, im a fawkin idiot. However, i wonder if it's easier to do headers with the transmission off.... What cha guys think?

 

Like said above, yes you can do it w/out pulling the y pipe. Also, I'd imagine a lack of tranny might make it easier to do them. You'll be half and half, under the car, over the car, so the more arm room the better. I say just wait until it's all off. Kill two birds with one stone. Working on your back sucks, get it all out of the way at one time. No need to get dirty twice now
