Jet-Hot is the only place to get a good set of the MAC Mids. The coating is what makes the headers...

Do they come with anything else? Bolt on to factory Y pipe, or what would I put between them and my borla catback?

Towards the bottom of that page:

Chevrolet Camaro 94-95 5.7 MAC (shorty hdr/Y pipe) TF94957 1 5/8x3"

Since these are made for 94-95 cars, you will need an S-pipe and a cat or straight pipe.

The headers come with the Y-pipe. One of the benefits of midlength headers.

For you it would go like this
Headers=>Y-pipe=>cat or straight pipe=>S-pipe=>current catback

I'm confused now

So they do make them for 96-97 dual cats too?

I believe they always did. I converted to OBDI so I went with the '94-'95 style, and didn't run a cat at all.

What's with their "HTS" coating? Looks a bit dull.

its a weak ceramic "paint" if u will...it gets hot (not extremely) but always looks good..barely any rust fade like most headers...it holds up..i have heard the same from others who have had them on for years

I've been eyeing a set of MAC's for a while now. I was just wondering, will the MAC's and the supplied Y-pipe bolt up directly to a 94 style cat-back? Or will I have to cut off a decent amount of the cat-back piping?

It will bolt up, but you will need an off road pipe, or cat to go between the y-pipe and the catback.MAC sells the ORP for about $60 I believe.

I built a high flow cat instead for about $85. See thread below.

I think I'm going to try a straight through bullet muffler and put flanges on each end to replace my cat. It will look like the cat in the link above, but the muffler will replace the cat. That way I have NO restriction from the cat.

That is what I did with my setup. I installed a straight through bullet muffler in place of the cat. Without the bullet muffler, the exhaust was way too loud for my taste. (Flowmaster catback) It had a loud rap to it, but after installing the bullet muffler, it was much better sounding.

That's good to hear. Did you get any popping from the exhaust with the bullet muffler? Any rasp?

No more popping and it stopped that loud rap sound. I think its 100% better.
