Mac Header Install - Finally Done !!

Well after my car being down for a month or long i finally got a pair of mac's and put them in. Install was pretty easy I did the driver's side all by myself. The passenger side i had to have a friend help me on. The egr was kind of a pain to get in but my friend finally popped it in and we finished up the passenger side pretty fast. I then hooked everything back up and fired her up and she ran great. Since i haven't drove my car for a month it's hard to give a sotp feel but i defintly notice the tach moving faster in the upper rpm's.

Also if anyone else has mac's how do you tighten all the header bolts? I haven't tried to reach all the bolts and i think i'll have to pull off the altenator to get to the two front one's on the passenger side. I just used the stock bolts they supplied and some of the bolts were hard to get to because the wrench would hit the primary tube. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions or ideas to help make it easier to tighten these up? I'm really suprised i didn't have any leaks because some of the bolts i didn't think i got good enough.

My Jet Hots were the same way. The easiest part for me to get to the two front ones is to jack up the passenger side of the motor. My header tubing was fully round, and wasn't the exact shape of the ports, so I had problems tightening some of the bolts. You can get some of the bottom, then go up top and keep changing because of the round tubing gets in the way.

I just took out the Dremel and ground down the closed end of the wrench, nice and thin, and it fits great between the bolt and the primary.

I was able to get at least a wrench on all of the bolts with the alternator still on. YOu could only turn some of them 5 degrees at a time, but I was able to do it. YRMV.
