MAC hassels...
Ok, so far the "easiest side" has been kicking me in the azz! First off it would not go in with the steering shaft elbow on. Then I notice the flare for the #1 primary to slide in is beat up! It came that way! The d@@m thing would not slide on. Well finally I get it warped kind of the way it is supposed to be. Now I can get a few bolts in then the other bolts won't go in. So I guess I need to open up the holes on the copper gaskets! WT*?!! Thanks to work I am working 10-12 hour days so it's been sitting there for 2 weeks. Anyone have any suggestions??
Something sounds wrong, that's for sure. All of my bolt holes lined up perfectly. You shouldn't need to change the holes in the gasket. They should line up perfect. If anything, it would be the header bolt holes that would need to be clearanced slightly.
You put the header in from underneath right? I just needed to remove the rear two spark plugs and it slid in like butter.
It is a major pain to get that slip fit tube in there. Even with mine being nice and round, it still took quite a bit of persuasion to get it to slide in. Once you get the right angle though, it goes pretty good. Putting Ultracopper RTV in the joint helps a lot, and should be done anyways.
Your gaskets do have the D shaped ports right?

One of my bigger problems right now is the #1 primary isn't lining up properly because the flange was dented b4 it even got here. I just removed the steering elbow, that was a cinch. I pretty much got the primary to go in but it still doesn't seem to be exact. Then when I would start getting bolts in a couple just wouldn't go in then they would get in a bind. So I unbolted the header numerous times trying different series of bolting, same thing. But when I removed the header to see if the bolts and wholes were good there was no problem, the bolts went right in. But at least the header is where it needs to be I guess. So I will give it another try again tomorrow. i just can't get over how 2 bolts would go in then the next just wouldn't go.
