AS&M Single Cat Conversion

i have read a lot on single Cat conversions and understand them, but i have really found nothing solid on 94-95 AS&M headers converted to single cat for a 97 F-body... i have my rear 02 sensors programed out in my computer, i have a SLP LM cat back (soon to be borlamouth) i understand i need an S pipe, but where should i go about getting one? and i have also heard that catco cats will work in this application, the 2.5" catco cat

have you thought abuut getting the dual cat y-pipe from random tech that hooks up to them? I would understand if you didn't go that way though, they're a bit expensive

SLP sells the S pipe as a kit for put the LM on to 93-95 LT1s. I tink it's like $80-$100 if i remember correctly.

The ypipe bolts up to the cat, the cat will bolt up to the S pipe, and the S pipe slipfits into the catback.

I'll try and get a pic for you of the setup this weekend.

Re: AS&M Single Cat Conversion

I bought a mandrel bent 3" U, then had a shop cut and weld it in. It will end up costing about the same, but then you have a fully welded system and its guarenteed to fit. I'm not suggesting that parts you buy will not fit, they should work, i'm just throwing another option at you. You might also want to call summit, i believe they carry a Stainless Works s pipe that isn't listed on their website, it may be the same one thunderracing carries.

Re: AS&M Single Cat Conversion

humm... yeah... im prob goign with the SLP LM kit.. bc i need the rubber spacer in the kit b/c the exhaust shop didnt put it on when i got the LM installed so my concern isnt the S pipe.. its getting a CAT that will fit on the end of the 3 bolt fastener on the tip of the AS&M Y pipe...
