AS&M headers
AS&M headers
I am looking at a used set of ceramic coated AS&M headers for $300. This seems like a good deal, the ceramic coating is in great condition. I was wondering if I would feel a difference between the mid lengths, and Jet Hot Long tubes? The AS&M headers have 1 3/4 tubes if that matters. I will be running a 355 with a true dual setup, ported and polsihed heads, cam, 1.6rr, all the bolt ons and some nitrous maybe. Thanks for the help.
This is a pretty big debate here. Many say the longtubes are good for 10-30 HP more over the mid lengths. One person on this site accually has dyo results showing he picked up power with mid length headers. This could be due to the headers matching his perticular setup better than the longtubes. But generally the mid lengths improve bottom end. In my opinion, the AS&M headers are the best of the mid lengths. If you can buy them for $300, BUY THEM. If not, I will! (to sell them on Ebay
)
I have and love AS&M headers, there are no ground clearance issues as with longtubes and if you have to run a cat, it's much easier with shortie and mid length headers.

$300.00
****** them up. I have had AS&Ms for over 2 years now.(Paid $700.00) I am reusing them on my stroker. (Tip: Ask the seller to supply pictures of a straight edge or ruler set against the flanges to verify straightness.)
