AS&M 54mm

General install comments on the titled throttle-body.

My BBK incurred a shaft wearing problem and was sticking. Does my LT4 intake need to be enlarged?

Youll have to open it up since the stock intake is only a 52mm. It doesn't take long with the right tools.

Only other comment is that the AS&M doesn't have provisions for the coolant lines. So if you haven't already done the coolant bypass then you will need to do that (just connect the two hoses together).

Measured 54mm with my tools, but what would I know I only actually measured it.

That is not saying however that the two 54mm holes in the TB would perfectly align with the holes in the intake so some clearancing may still be in order.

Best thing to do is to make the holes you will be needing with the gasket the TB came with. Line it up using the bolt locations as guides. Then take a marker and out line the circles. When I did it I frequently put the TB on and off and opened the blades to ensure I got all metal that would be in the way.

This is ecactly how I got it done in no time.

"With a dremmel use the "High Speed Cutter Bit No. 115", and apply high temp grease (found at Autozone), are rather any grease... onto the blades of the bit. This will keep them from getting jammed up and will speed the process up signifigantly"
