Lunati Voodoo Cams

anyone have any experience with them on lt1's or heard any info? They make it seem like "brand c" is comp and would guess that would be xfi.

Re: Lunati Voodoo Cams

I heard through the grape-vine that the same guy that developed Comp's Extreme and XFI lobes, was then hired by Lunati and Crane to develop their Voo-Doo and Z-cam lobes, respectively. May be just a rumor, though.

Lunati use to do custom grinds for a few shops and people always had problems with cams being ground wrong. MTI had a lot of issues with them before they went to Comp

Lunati hired Harold Brookshire, who used to own UltraDyne Cams until the IRS shut him down for not paying his taxes a couple of years ago. I believe Harold worked at Comp Cams a long time ago.

I've looked at alot of the VooDoo grinds on their website. One of them has the exact specs of an UltraDyne lobe I've used in the past.

This is correct, although there is a little more to the personal side of the equation. Harold did work with Comp in the very early years, and has developed cams for many companies. I have one of his very recent custom grinds.

One of their grinds is very similar to a popular Lingenfelter grind which is the 211/219. Duration is identical, but it has a little more lift on the intake side, and a little less on the exhaust. (Lunati's .540"/.548" vs. Lingenfelter's .530"/.560" with 1.6's.)
