Lucas 42# injectors

Anyone have any experience with these? Comparable to Bosch or SVO's? Bill

Not sure what you mean by "comparible". They are a disc-style injector, completely different type of injector than the Bosch/SVO/FMS pintle-style injectors. As such, they have different offset (to be programmed in the PCM), different spray pattern, faster operating time, different sensitivity to excessively high fuel pressures, etc. With the correct programming, they will provide the same performance as any other 42# injector, with the slight advantage of the faster operating times for a smoother idle.

Remember that the British car enthusiasts refer to the company as "Lucas--Prince of Darkness." Because in the past the British cars all came with Lucas electricals/electronics and they were very prone to failure.

Things may be better these days.

Almost every manufacture of injectors now makes a disc style design including Bosch for some SVO product.
