LTCC Wiring Question

For you all running the LTCC. What did you do with the yellow wire (Used for the two stage timing retard), did you just leave it not connected, ground it, or connect it up. I won't be using the delay circuit now, but do have plans for it in the future.

Thanks,

Mark.

Re: LTCC Wiring Question

I left it unconnected. Just coiled it up and taped it inside the shielding with the rest of the wires.

Re: LTCC Wiring Question

I really like it. The ignition is noticeably smoother, and the installation was a snap.

Where did you mount your box? I've looked at most documented mounting options, but I'm always looking for other possible mounting locations.

Re: LTCC Wiring Question

I also did not use the yellow wire. Just rolled it up and taped it off. I mounted the box on the driver's side fender well toward the front little. I mounted the coils on the valve covers. If you would like a pic let me know and I will email you one. I really like my setup. I replaced my opti at the same time - the old one got really soaked one day - and I can really notice the response difference.

Re: LTCC Wiring Question

I mounted mine on the driver side inner fender, and mounted the coils under the car.

One bit of advice. When you get it, take the top off and drill a hole over the red and green lights in the box. Then take some weatherproof silicone and glue a piece of clear plexiglass over the hole. Makes checking for codes a hell of alot easier

Good tip I like it. I'm mounting mine on the driver side frame rail near where the ABS unit was. I'm also fabbing up a heat shield just for extra insurance. With the harness it's going to be difficult to make it a "clean" installation. My coils are on mounted on some home made fuel rail covers made out of 1/8" aluminum sheet.

I mounted mine the same place, on the driver's side fender toward the front right up against the fuse block. I also mounted the coils on the valve covers. I bought LS2 coils off of ebay and they came with a bracket and wiring harness. So I used the brackets, I just had to modify the passenger side to accommodate the oil fill. Then I made a plate to bolt them to that I could us the valve cover bolts to hold them down. I also used the wiring harness (this cleaned the wires up a little), so I had to cut the LTCC wiring harness a part and modify it to match. I am really pleased how it came out. The wires are very clean and the coils are mounted uniformly, with very short plug wire runs.
