LTCC w/ LS2 coil packs and modified harness
Re: LTCC w/ LS2 coil packs and modified harness
What's the difference between this and the Delteq? Obviously the coils are different but what;s the difference in how it works. Also I know that some LS1 guys were relocating their coils to under the cowl for a hidden appearence. Opens up for fancy valve covers and convenience. Just an idea. Folks always want options. We can prolly check the LS1 forum for details.. BTW. What's the price difference? I mean if you go the Delteq route and you opt for the pretty billet cover to replace the opti cap and rotor button which I would, You're in at over $700.

Steve, that looks totally awesome!
I have LTCC and LS1 coils and it looks like an octopus is attacking my engine!
Will your wire mod work with my LS1 coils if I get a mounting bracket?

I dont see why it wouldnt wire is wire as far as the coils are concered.
this isnt that hard to do but it is a little time consuming
the most expensive part is the MSD connectors for the coil packs.

I wish I would have seen this last year when the thread was fresh. This looks tike the way to go me. Did Steve get some pricing worked out for his wiring mod? I want to do this.

Re: LTCC w/ LS2 coil packs and modified harness
Here is the cost break down for the parts I use
MSD connectors-MSD-8185 $19.88 each you need 2
Msd coil harness-MSD-8877 $30.88
Wire loom from radio shack 5-6 bucks
electrical tape 3 bucks
crimp connector for ground 5 cents lol
Tools if you wanted to do it
MSD crimper-MSD-3505 $52.00
MSD Die for crimper-MSD-3510-$30.88
I could buy everything and do it for you for
$84.00 in parts after ship from summit
$10.00 for local pick up stuff (wire loom tape etc..
$100.00 to build (4-5 hours to build it and test it.)
175-200 bucks shipped should do it all and I would need you to send me your LTCC harness also

Re: LTCC w/ LS2 coil packs and modified harness
LOL just saw this doing a search for another car, I did the same thing a while back, thought I was the only one LOL
Didn't like all the wires the LTCC came with, so I automatically took it apart and built the same harness.
The connectors for the LS1 coil harness you can pick up at a local junkyard. Just rip it off an 86-87 Buick 3.8L engine, it only has 1 but all the pins are the same and plugs right in, so if you find 2 buicks with that engine/year your'e set
