LTCC Users HELP NEEDED!!!
LTCC Users HELP NEEDED!!!
I have a 3 blink count on the red LED in the LTCC box.
I have emailed Bob and I understand he is busy and I'm sure he will
answer when he can but I am a little impatient! The car was running great
then developed a NASTY Stumble at 4000 rpms, Got worse and backfired thru the exhaust so I babied it home and checked everything out. All my connections are good then I popped the cover and saw the 3 count.
Anyone have this and Know where I may look to fix it?!?!
TIA!!!

Re: LTCC Users HELP NEEDED!!!
I am getting the same thing.
"Wrong number of Hi-Res pulses counted during a High Lo-Res pulse of Low Lo-Res pulse".
I have no idea what this means since my car ran perfectly fine before the LTCC install with no Hi or Low-Res engine codes.

Re: LTCC Users HELP NEEDED!!!
ok, I fixed my problem a while ago. Bob thought it was my grounds. after I assured myself that the grounds were good (very important).
I started to move around wires wondering if EMF would be causing problems. turns out the alternator was causing problems with cylinder 2. zip-tie the wires as far away as possible.
By the way, at that time, I actually bought a new alternator, because mine was on it's last leg, then I grinded down the brackets so they would have good contact. that might have made the difference too.
No problems since then.

There are four low-res pulse windows of the same duration (every other window) and there are four low-res pulses of varying duration.
The ECM (and the Delteq or LTCC) determine which cylinder is the present cylinder-of-interest by counting the number of high-res pulses that are present during the low-res window. The four varying duration low-res pulse windows will have different counts of high-res pulses in them and these counts are of a known quantity.
If these counts do not meet the requirements, it sounds like the LTCC has a way to issue an error.
Another way of saying this is the high-res pulses can determine 1 degree of crankshaft movement, and by counting the number of high-res pulses in a low-res window we can determine the duration in crankshaft degrees of that low-res window. The ECM/Delteq/LTCC know how many crankshaft degrees that each cylinder's low-res window duration should be and can sense camshaft/crankshaft position as well as rpm.
