LTCC is installed!

Took the car out last night after replacing the rear main seal and putting in the LTCC. The car has never run that good in the past 3 years. Didn't get on it yet because the rear main was still leaking like hell and already getting ready to pull the tranny again, just thought I would share this while I'm taking a break from the car.

Can't wait until tomorrow hopefully the rear main will go in smoothly this time and I can go raise some hell with no more high voltage opti!

Will get pics soon.

Got impatient and couldn't get a plasma cutter or band saw quick enough to mount them under the radiator like I wanted so they are up on the valve covers unfortunately. This also allowed me to not have to order custom Magnecor wires as I could reuse my Accell Extreme 9000's for a while. I'll get some pics tonight or tomorrow. 16 gauge steel is a biotch to work with when you don't have the right tools.

The only external thing I need to run is a window switch. The LTCC box has everything else I need built in.

Stick with mechanic work because you are a horrible photographer.

J/K! It looks good man! I'm beginning to think I should do this to my car. Think it might get you a little better gas mileage?

Re: LTCC is installed!

Depending on the current state of disrepair that your opti is in, switching to LTCC could possibly increase mileage.

Mounts are just mild steel, I'll probably spray them black next time I take them off.

Re: LTCC is installed!

It's a box that converts the low voltage (optical) part of the opti into a signal that fires 8 individual coils instead of the high voltage part of the opti.

Re: LTCC is installed!

ok question here - Isnt possible for ppl who have ram air, to install the coil packs in the former air intake spot? Or just relocate the battery to the rear and place the coils over there? I just think it would be better then the rad mount position or trying to place them on the crowded valve covers . IMO
