Re: LTCC Codes???

It has to be frustrating - on both ends - but especially for you. It not only seems like a simple setup it is. My entire install went quick and relatively painless and has run great ever since. Problem is that when you find the answer it will probably be something really stupid and simple. That's what always irritates me. But we'll keep trying until we help find what the problem is. Surprised Bob isn't more involved here. He's usually pretty good about getting back quickly and problem solving.

Yeah I wished Bob would chime in here. He must be on vacation or something. I have the box just sitting there so I can see it while im trying to crank it. I kinda think it has to do with me having a 97 model car. The ignition systems are different so seems like the LTCC would be different.

Bob doesn't usually monitor this sight. You have to email him direct and he usually is good at not only getting back but in solving problems. In case you don't have it his email is: turbobob@bailey-eng.com

I believe that the box has to be grounded as well. Try grounding it out or going ahead and mounting it.

Re: LTCC Codes???

Ok I will try grounding the box, I tired that last night a little bit, but the box looked to be made out of cast aluminium, which doesnt groundvery well so I didnt bother to much.
I emailed Bob 2 weeks ago and havnt heard back yet. I guess hes sidetracked at this moment.

How are you connecting the wires? solder, splice connectors?

Re: LTCC Codes???

I sorta had the same problem with Bob. Was great with emails until I got the box in my possession and had questions. Never responded to them. Luckily I got it working on my own.

Re: LTCC Codes???

I have male connectors on the old coil harness and female connectors on the LTCC harness while I am trying different wires. If I ever get it to working right I will solder it and put a heat shrink tube on it. But in the meantime with me trying different stuff it makes it easier to have male/female connectors.

Re: LTCC Codes???

Should be white wire to white wire. And both pink wires to the wire with 12v. Did you check the dip switches on the box?

Re: LTCC Codes???

Ah yes make sure all the DIP switches are OFF for the time being. Or at least the third one I believe it is.

Re: LTCC Codes???

Also, did you upgrade/check the ignition fuse? I've got a 25A in mine.

Re: LTCC Codes???

Sorry I got pretty busy last couple of days and had to work today, but im off now and tomm so I will get back on it. I will ground the box, one of the dip switches is on, I beleave its the 4th one so I will turn it off and check my wireing again. I talked to a guy with a 96 and he said he used the green wire as the trigger wire and wasnt sure what color the power wire is. But I allready have that. I will let yall know something ASAP.

Re: LTCC Codes???

Well I double checked the ignition fuse and its 25A, grounded the LTCC box, and tried the green wire as trigger wire and orange as the power wire and then tired every combo of wires with no solid green light at all, then check the spark plug anyway and no spark. Im going to send Bob another email today asking about the LTCC box and if it is the same unit for 94-95 as it is for 96-97. Until then any ideas?

Re: LTCC Codes???

I'm at a lost then. I am pretty sure Bob only offers one version of the box.

The only thing I can think of to check while you're waiting (if you've not already) is if the coils are getting power, since we're already found out that they're not putting out spark. Like I said before just unplug a connector that goes into the coil and test it there.
