But the heads are identical... both heads have the holes for the center-bolts in the same position. Take a head bolted on the passenger side, with the VC with the oil fill/air supply hole in it..... fits right? Pick that head up with the VC, move it to the drivers side. Does the VC suddenly not fit because the bolt holes no longer line up?

What am I missing?

If you look at a set of centerbolt valve covers from either end, you'll notice that the bolt holes are lined up slightly off-center on the top of each cover. If you switch a passenger side cover over to the driver's side, (and vice versa), you will have to rotate each cover 180* for each row of bolt holes to line up with those on the opposite head. With regard to mounting a passenger's side cover on the driver's side: the oil fill hole will be at the back and the fresh air vent hose hole will be at the front. That's the only difference.

I've tried it, it doesn't work. You can't get it down onto the head, it hangs up about 1/4" to 1/2" above the head, and thats all the farther they will go if you switch them.

Re: LT4 Valve Covers Interchangeable Side to Side??

This question was posted for me. Long story short, I need a new LT4 valve cover for my drivers side. I figured if they are interchangeable, why not get the passenger side one for the drivers side so the breathers can help relieve crank case pressure on both sides.

I am under the impression that this WILL work and I have already ordered the passenger side valve cover to go on my drivers side. The valve cover should be in on Tuesday.

I NEED TO KNOW FOR SURE IF THIS WILL WORK OR NOT! Does anyone have any concrete evidence of this either working or not working for sure???
