LT4 Valve Covers

Will composite LT4 valve covers fit an F-Body with roller rockers without modifications? I am unsure if they will clear the alternator.

I have the Pro-form Roller rockers and I had to DO NOTHING to the covers.
Go to my site in the rebuild section and take a look at the rockers. They are not self aligning so I needed guide plates. The only mod I had to do was to the alternator. I just had to not use one of the brackets. No big deal at all.

Well depends on the rocker. I had some with the crane gold 1.6 SA rockers no mods to the Lt4 covers were needed. I think you only have to cut them if you go to a NSA rocker and use guide plates. Yes they will clear the alternator just fine. HTH

I have CC 1.6 rr's NSA w/ guideplates and the LT4 valve covers fit with no modifications necessary.

Two years ago I had the GM Perf. Parts 1.6 self alignings (crane golds) and they required no mods to even the stock covers. But I have the Comp Pro Mags now and they are a lot wider, which required clearancing to the cross bracing on the stockers...and I knew that was necessary with the composite covers as well.

Cool

LT4 covers don't even come close to interfering with guideplates.

I'm running CompCams ProMag 1.6 RRs, 7/16" studs and guideplates with no modifications to the covers.

I just put on a set yesterday. I have the GMPP 1.6 rockers and had no problems. They cut down the valve train noise very nicely.

12552321 Drivers side
12552322 Passenger side
10108675 x 8 Bolt screws
10108674 x 8 Studs
12555685 New oil fill cap

Total was $201.14 shipped here to me in Hawaii from Sam Taylor Buick in Ft. Walton Beach FL. You can find a 800 # and an e-mail address if you look around on this message board. Jason Cromer is the guy to get hold of.

P.S. The bolt screws (10108675) come in a small bag of ten.

When you get them from Jason he only send 8 and that's all you get charged for.
