For that cam there okay. I would run them, but if it's in your budget get something good like comp cam beehive's that way if you wanna upgrade from the LT4 cam you can without changing springs.

They were not designed for it, they were already in the parts bin.

Notice the "LT4" part, they are OK with the light weight hollow/sodium filled LT4 valves but are insifficient for the heavier solid LT1 valves.

You also do not buy springs with hopes of reusing them on some long future as of yet unplanned cam swap, if that happens you throw the old springs out and buy new ones as they are a WEAR ITEM.

Would be nice if you got correct answers on public forums but it doesn't happen often, and when it does they are a tiny percentage of the replies you get.

LT4 Springs are a good upgrade to a stock engine with 1.6 RR, but they are not much use for anything else. The 918's are good.

Consider that GM sells a kit which includes those springs and that cam for use on LT1 engines. And has sold that kit for more than a dozen years now. And AFAIK we've never seen a report of a failure of those springs with that cam on any LTx forum.

People who buy that kit are generally so ignorant they can't identify valve float when it happens.

The LT4 springs will work fine with the Hotcam. Lot's of idiots have been running them very hard over the years with no failures that I've seen. I wouldnt use beehives ever, but that's me.

Boy, you are just a ray of sunshine, ain't you?

There is nothing inherently 'wrong' with the hotcam kit. It's a decent cam for what it is meant to be, which is a mild upgrade.

There are too many guys here that will tell you that you need a monster +.600 lift cam, and that it'll be 'streetable.'

Well, free opinions are generally worth what you paid for 'em. Especially on the internet.

I went through this same thing about a month ago when I put 1.6 RR's on my car......some people love LT4 springs and others absolutely hate them........I sorted the good with the bad and if you look in my sig, you will see what I'm running on mine......Good Luck with whichever you decide

The LT4 springs will definately suffice for the hotcam considering the fact that GM has been selling the kit for years, yes GM, and although they do make mistakes someone would have called them out on that blunder had they mispaired the cam to springs. You will run into valve float if you rev your car to high hell and back but with the LT4 Hotcam that in unnecessary because the cam doesn't make power much higher than the lt1 stocker. I know plenty of people running the LT4 Hotcam setup with absolutely no problems and have seen dyno sheets to prove the lack of valve float.

I run LT4 springs on my OEM LT4 cam with 1.6's. I know, not a Hotcam, but the springs have done good by me. Personally I would try to find a little better spring, but if you already have them there is nothing wrong with running them.
