Cool LT4 sitting in 97 T/A in junkyard (PHX, AZ)

Was looking for something totally different, when I spotted the red LT4 intake.

Inquired about the Heads and Intake:
$200 Intake
$150 each Head

or $500 for the whole engine.

I really don't need it, but I was thinking of my friends at this website searching for an LT4 setup.

Apparently, the car overheated and (???). Didn't see any Firehawk emblems. The junkyard dog said that it had a corvette engine (duh), but he obviously doesn't know the difference between a LT1 and LT4.

Hopefully no damage occured to the block or heads from the overheating. If it is a genuine LT4 motor, then it would be a pretty good snag for 500 bucks.

I"d check the casting number on the manifold before immediately assuming it's an LT4. Not to be a spoiler, but it would suck to think that you paid $200 for a run of the mill LT1 manifold.

Check the numbers as stated before, but also pull a valve cover and make sure it has crane gold 1.6 rr. For $500 you would be crazy not to buy it.......if it is a LT4. The parts alone if you parted it out would be roughly double that easy.

lt4 heads have lt4 cast into them under the valve cover.. you may be able to see it through the oil fill hole..

If it was a legitimate LT4, I wouldn't have even bothered to ask whether or not I should get it. I'd have snatched it up on the spot.

if the car is a real lt4 from the factory it will have a 5 instead of a P on the 8th digit in the vin.. and if its anything like the vettes were they were only a 6 speed option..

Lt4 conversion kit, or just another painted intake. Check the numbers, I would pull the valve cover off and see if it had aftermarket rockers and springs.

Even if it was a conversion, it's still well worth $500.

Or a LT4 crate motor, been discontinued for some years now, but they once existed.
