LT4 question

just ordered Summit's LT4 cam package.. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NAL-12480002/ the kit does not include lifters or pushrods. my biggest worry is will i need them? the car has almost 100k on it. also, will i need to use the seats, locks, etc that it comes with since i am keeping the same heads? or if i decide to have them ported out will i need them? thanks, chris

Doesn't make sense to use the old locks, retainers, and seats. Use the new stuff.

I would upgrade to a hardened 7.20" pushrod (Comp).

If your lifters are in decent shape (no pitting, marring) then you can reuse them. If not, the LS7 lifters are what you're going to want to use.

And if you're going to have the heads ported in the future, I would hope you'd be smart enough to install a cam more suited to ported heads, requiring a serious upgrade in valve springs and hardware as the LT4s can't handle anything more than the hotcam.
