lt4 and orgional lt1 wiring harness

I just spun a main bearing and im looking for a fresh start.. I want the lt4 engine instad of the lt1...ive heard they can take more abuse than the lt1 due to the 4 bolt main. Is this true? And what is the difference in the horsepower/torque between the two? My main concern is will the lt4 use the same wiring harness and engine mounts from my 95 lt1.

yes...same wiring harness..LT4 is the same injection as an LT1...it just has mechanical differences like 4 bolt main, larger intake runners, things like that.

You did not spin a main due to "less durable" 2 bolt mains. Was just wear and abuse or maybe debris from needlessly changing the timing chain or changing the head gaskets. You need to be FAR beyond stock levels before the main bolts become a meaningful issue.

Seeing as the LT4 block is the same exact casting as the LT1 block you are making WAY too big a deal over fitment.

The LT4 is NOT all that, it may have been interesting a decade ago but today is sought after mostly out of ignorance. You would be much better off putting together a well thought out LT1.

For once I agree with what capricemgr said!

and my LT1 came stock with 4 bolt mains; however, if you want 4 bolt mains you can install them on your LT1 and if you can install splayed 4 bolt mains which are even stronger than the stock LT1/LT4 system.
