Should take you about 5 minutes to put in the KM.

1) Unhook battery.
2) Remove two 10mm bolts holding PCM.
3) Pull PCM out of hole.
4) Remove two bolts holding KM cover on side of PCM and remove cover.
5) Push in side clips on the KM and pull out.
6) Push in new LT4 KM until it clips in.
7) Reverse procedure.
thanks a lot man, you and shoebox are the man....

nope. the KM only senses engine detonation(knock) and has nothing to do with fuel management.

the LT1 KM is the "better" km. this is because its actually more sensative to harmful knock. the LT4 is inferior but b/c what it does is help save ppl from losing power, most believe this is like an upgrade or something which is totally wrong. but the way i see it is if its good enough for an LT4 then its good enough for me.

All you ever wanted to know about knock modules:

The LT4 knock module is GM part number 16214681.
The LT1 knock module is GM part number 16177700. This is the stock LT1 module that comes with the PCM. You do not want to buy this module.

The stock KM is very sensitive, and can easily pick up false knock (noisy valvetrains, loud exhaust, headers, etc., can all be either interpreted as false knock or amplify valvetrain noise) and subsequently retard engine timing to prevent detonation. If there IS no real knock, then you're hurting your potential power gains.

The LT4 module was designed with the LT4 valvetrain in mind (full roller rockers, LT4 cam, etc.) and is therefore less sensitive, and only indicates REAL knock. You can see the difference if you have the means of scanning your car. I monitored 9 degrees of knock prior to the LT4 module, then only 2 after it was installed. That's seven degrees of retard that was hurting me.

1993 models do NOT have a removable knock module.

The knock module is not to be confused with the knock sensor, which is fixed in the block on the passenger side of the engine, doubling as a coolant drain plug.

The LT4 module is beneficial, even on a stock motor.

You most likely won't feel it, but it's nice to know that it is there.
