Hi everyone! I have a question about if i should install a LT4 knock module or is it something else. The scanner reads 15 for the knock at idiel and should be reading 0 right? I just installed a new knock sensor. The only mods i have are headers,exuast,cold air intake and a mail order tune from PCM For Less. Thanks can anyone help?

 

most use the lt4 km for roller rockers as they are loud, or rattle

Iv read if pipes bump or exhaust leaks, can set off counts

do you run 93+ gas?? it is a must with a tune

Might be some sort of limp mode. Is it throwing any trouble codes?

 

Knock counts are cumulative. Are you reading counts or knock retard when you say "the scanner reads 15".

 

Hi there. I will check for exaust leaks. Do u mean 93+ octane at the pump....we have 94 here. I will start using it. Yes it did throw a code, It said the right O2 sensor was burning to lean so we replaced it. Thanks.

 

f you are getting 15-deg of kinock retard at idle, there's a good chance the knock sensor circuit is screwed up, and the PCM is retarding timing to protect the engine. Did the new knock sensor correct the problem? If not, are you sure you have the correct knock sensor - there's one for 93-95, and a different one for 96-97. Have you rechecked the codes AFTER you replaced the knock sensor?

But you haven't told us what year your car is. If its a 93, you can't use the LT4 knock module.
