Whats the difference between the lt4 knock module and knock sensor?? Which one do i need for 1.6 rr and a louder exhaust?

 

the sensor is just that...a sensor that detects knock. it's threaded into the block someplace (forgot where)

the knock module is a small computer chip that is on the back of the ECM that actually analyses the signal and tells the computer how much knock is too much. or something like that.

you need the knock module, takes 5mins to swap.

On my 97 the sensor is in the drain hole on the lower right side of the block.
