I have a 97 with the lt4 conversion and It really could use a knock module , one question though , do you have to reset the computer after you install ? I want to know because my car is programmed for the hot cam and I dont have a way of reprogramming it again without shelling out alot of money which I dont have right now and the car runs like absolute *** without the tuning . thx

I don't think it will mess up the pcm at all. Because its only function is to determine if you have knock or not. If you have real knock it will pick it up. As for having to reset you pcm i'm not sure. But when i did mine i disconnected my battery and after i installed it, i let the car sit for about 15 more minutes. So i'm pretty sure that resets the computer.

I got my car dynoed at ATP Turbo in Freemont. There or in Sac were the closest places i knew of. It was only $65 for 3 runs so the price good.

You can call Jason at 850-244-5165

Also, i got a quick question. When you guys are talking about resetting your pcm....if i were to get a pcmforless tunning or something of that nature, then disconnected my battery, would i loose the tunning?

Resetting the computer does not do anything to the programming.

So you need a lt4 Knock module if go with headers and cam?

I have a 96 Z stock engine with an exhaust cutout. Wasn't sure if my exhaust cutout would give any problems?? It's pretty loud thats why I'm asking..plus the KM is all new to me.

THANKS!

You dont NEED a KM but its good to have. It made a huge difference on my car but maybe not on someone else's, plus I just have headers. So go for it if you want, its only $30.
