LT4 Knock Modle AND sensor Question

I got this from another post:

"The LT4 KM is for OBDII (1996) and it expects to see an OBDII KM which should read between 93K and 107K ohms. THEREFORE if I'm correct, the LT4 KM should have an OBDII KS that reads higher. No?"

I just posted this post regarding my computer retaring timing because of knock:
http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=455233

The question is, could anyone confirm this information? I have the LT4 KM, but still the 95 OBD1 knock sensor. Does this combination lead to false knock? Is it neccessary to change the knock sensor to the 96 -97 version?

Re: LT4 Knock Modle AND sensor Question

The LT4 knock module will work with either OBD-I or II PCMs (but not 1993 ECMs).

OBD-I and II computers use different impedance knock sensors, so you must match the sensor to the OBD type.

When there is a knock sensor system DTC because of some failure in the system, timing advance will be limited.

Re: LT4 Knock Modle AND sensor Question

So, it sounds like a 95 OBD I knock Sensor will work fine with my OBD I computer, and LT4 Knock module...

Unfortunatly I don't have any codes thrown. Its just retarding timing during any medium-hard accelleration Thnx.
