Talking LT4 KM You got to get one

Well i put my LT4 Knock module in and it cut .3 off my last e.t. and 2mph. It doesn't pop like it use to either.....i also had a high miss and it's gone now too.

I am finally running consistant It is still to low though I think.....14.145 @ 99.26 with the mods in the sig. My posi is gone so my 60 is like 2.257. I wonder what i'll find when i pull the rear cover off besides those crappy 2.73's. I makes the worst sound ever when doing a burn-out....I am out for the season......which sucks.......have to save up 2grand for the moser now

Hopefully when i get the rear end I will be running about right times.......what do you think....can the rear end cut like .5 off that time? I am thinking I should be around 13.5 is this too optimistic?

I remember seeing in GMHTP they were cutting like 1.8 60's on stock car with 3.42's(wich is the gear i am going to) So i guess that would be 5 tenths there if i can run identical times as them......which i doubt......i don't think they had 125,000miles on the clock

3.42s and lsd should put you pretty close to that- of course that also depends on traction. 2.0s should drop you several tenths...

Where did you get the lt4 km, how much? It might be on my buy list soon. Along with a cutout. My car is only moderately loud right now. It needs to be louder to scare all the ricers.

just curious, do you have alumnium rockers?
The LT-4 KM just de-sensitises the computer from certain frequencies of engine knock usually created by alumnium rockers, lt-4s had alumnium rockers, thats why they had it. I understand there were other minor upgrades since the LT-4KM wasnt out till after the standard one, but the only people that normally gain from it are those with a false knock caused by alumnium rockers....

Nope stock rockers.

I ordered it from GMpartsdirect cost about 35 shipped Yea this is a must buy with loud exhaust.......i wish someone had told me when i did the headers........it sounds soo much better, because it doesn't pop anymore when you let off the gas suddenly. I still have to check, but i think it will help with the massive amounts of carbon i have been getting since the headers.......that black crap that shoots 4ft from my exhaust. I'm going to clean the tips and see how long it takes to get them dirty........use to be a couple trips and they were covered.

All i know is it is worth every penny it cost me.......got rid of my high miss, popping noise, and feels a heck of a lot stronger on the top end.......almost like when it was stock if that makes sense.

I am finally trapping 99.26 again...........before this KM and after the headers i could only trap 98......and that is a dead cold run in the best weather possible. This car has only traped 100 once......and it was with just intake.

I wish my rear wasn't gone......i could know what i should be running.

It's a little depressing hearing guys running 13.9's stock and you have only hit 13.995 with intake, headers, exhaust, Nittos

Hate to break it to you but the LT4 KM does nothing to change the sound of your exhaust. All it does and eliminate some engine frequencies that could be considered knock and that could cause timing to be pulled, such as roller rockers. It also has nothing to do with eliminating a miss or making your car run any cleaner. Anybody who sees a huge gain with the LT4 KM has a serious problem with there motor, because now what could have been a real problem is being masked, and could lead to engine problems down the road if your motor really is knocking.

Do yourself a favor and make your next modification aluminum rockers. That way your module will work correctly. I can't really think of a Logical explanation for what you're describing.
Anyway, after that I would pay Madwolf, or someone else to take a look at your PCM. You may be able to get back some power, and fix whatever goofy problems your having

Completely incorrect. Headers, as well as roller rockers, can create resonances that are sympathetic to the stock KM tuning and can trigger false knock. The LT4 had a noisier valvetrain due to increased cam ramp rates in addition to roller rockers. The LT4 KM is simply better tuned to pick up real detonation, and filter out some issues with a modded engine. Just because the LT4 KM does a better job of narrowing in on real detonation doesn't mean you "have a serious problem with there (sic) motor."
