You can take care of any false knock problems when you tune the PCM.

Good luck, Ed

how do you take care of false knock with tuning? Also is the LT4 KM even worth getting? I just installed one but I havent driven it yet with it. I'm just hoping it wasnt a waste.

Re: Lt4 Km

Ed already answered the question elsewere. Also, I just had the chance to drive my car with the LT4 KM. It did nothing for me at all. Mabey it gets better with time but so far I'm dissapointed. Everyone that said they felt a gain, said it helped, said the is smoother and runs better with it etc etc is FOS. I didnt notice squat. My next question is what is it's function? Will you see the same amount of knock retard but it pulls less timing or is it suppose to show less knock degrees on the scanner?

Re: Lt4 Km

The way it's done through tuning is my desensitizing the knock module via the PCM

Re: Lt4 Km

i didnt *notice* any difference with mine either, but its not like I expected a 20rwhp gain when i did it. its just a cheap, easy mod.

Re: Lt4 Km

I only put one in to try and solve some knock problems I had with a very mild setup and stock tune. I have done my own tuning to reduce the knock, but I can show you how a back to back run with the same tune with and without the LT4KM did show a difference in the datamaster. The LT4KM reduced the peaks of spark retard and "smoothed" out the depicted graph of the retard. I then desentized the knock and the attack revovery to help it out some more. I have no more knock now, thanks to further tuning and a wee bit of help from the KM. BTW, I am OBD1

Re: Lt4 Km

I'm going to give it a couple of days before I judge it. Tonight there were times when it seemed like it was working. I had my first wot with no knock. Couldnt duplicate it though. Before it average 5.0 at wot. Tonight it was in the 3.0 range. Also something is amist with my o2 milivolts. Before I averaged High 900's now I'm in the low to mid 900's. I dont know if it's because of the new KM or because the coputer being reset for the install.

I had knock retard and I put an LT4 knock module in and I still had knock retard. I got it to go away by having MadZ28 desensitize the knock sensor, and the car felt completely different after that.

After he desensitized it did it still show knock on a scanner or did it it still show but not pull as much timing?

Re: Lt4 Km

Actually I didn't get any after that. But I only check it every once in a while. My main problem was hesitation from it, and the car didn't hesitate any more after having it desensitized.
