There are no guideplates, it uses SA rockers for stock 3/8" studs.

The Hotcam kit spring are marginal, they supposedly are the same as LT4 standard springs. Some people, 2 or 3 that I can recall didn't use the springs because they weren't cutting the mustard. If you keep the RPMs reasonable you will probably be all right, most people are. Make sure your installed spring height is correct and check for bind.

I've heard of a few people running into float with the lt4 hot cam kit, most are fine but it wouldn't be a bad idea to upgrade the springs. It wouldn't cost that much since you'll be able to sell the springs that come with the kit to offset it.

If you plan on spinning higher than 6200rpm ....upgrade, otherwise they will be fine.

They use stock 3/8" studs yep, you could always sell them on eBay and go for 7/16" or get some ARP 3/8", you dont need it but I wanted stabilty so I used ARP 7/16" and non SA stuff. Too bad it costs twice as much when your done
