You will have to port match the heads.

An LT4 intake will not fit LT1 heads...it will only fit LT4 heads...the LT4 intake would need to be machined to fit the LT1 heads.

People say that the ports on the LT4 are raised over the LT1, but I compared them side-by-side and found no such thing.

If anything, the LT4 ports in the manifold are a tad smaller at the top.

Why would you want to put an LT4 intake on the stock heads? It isn't any better.

The 210's, according to AFR, require the LT4 intake.

the flange on the LT4 intake goes up higher in order to cover the larger and rasied intake ports on the LT4 heads. there isnt much power to be had in switching intakes.

do a search this topic has been covered a lot and all the options and opinions are there too im sure.

Problem is that if you mill down the LT4 intake you're essentially just sitting there with a powdercoated LT1 intake with blocked off EGR ports at that point. That was one of the points of the LT4 setup: raised intake runners for better directional airflow into to motor. Mill it down and you lose the reasons for it.

You might want to carefully read what "engineermike" said, then actually look at an LT4 intake. There is NO difference in the port layout, at least not the way they come from the factory. The runners on the LT4 heads are "raised"... the runners on the LT4 intake are not. There is extra metal on the LT4 intake, that can be machined to match the LT4 heads, and in fact a major porting job is required on the LT4 intake, in order for it to properly support LT4 heads.

What you need to "mill away" on an LT4 intake, to allow it to mate with LT1 heads is a ridge of metal that interferes with the valve cover rail on the LT1 heads. After you do that, you have a nice powder coated LT1 intake, as you noted. And, you still have the normal EGR ports... the LT4 intake does not ship with the factory blanking plates.

Do a search for post by "Arnie".... he has the best info.
