lt4 intake
There are no noticable power gains from the LT4 intake from what I hear. I thought it did bolt up to LT1 heads though? It's just that the intake ports wont match the LT1 head ports. I think people have used it with stock heads but they needed to port match the heads to match it. Anyway, if you're getting it for looks just have your stock manifold powdercoated red, that's what I did
Go to this link and look at the cutaway sections of the LT1 head intake port vs. the LT4 head intake port. You will see a difference in the way the rail for the valve cover is set up. That is enough of a difference to require some machine work on the LT4 intake, to bolt it to the LT1 head.
LT1 vs. LT4
After you get it on there, there is absolutley NO evidence that there is any gain. In fact, there might even be a loss... no one has ever measured it.
The LT1 intake flows exceptionally well, unmodified.... and will support extremely healthy ported LT1 head flows. The LT4 intake is really of benefit for LT4 heads, and even then requires some significant porting to support the kind of flows ported LT4 heads are capable of.
